Strawberries!

One of the things that I miss from California is the strawberries, luckily the california strawberries are starting to make it up here. Kaiya, as you can tell, absolutely adores them. You can even see Joey in one of the pictures waiting for her to drop it.

My daughter the genius

Now that the weather is warming up all Chloe wants to wear is skirts and dresses (I still wonder if she's truly mine). I let her but our agreement is that she can't complain about being cold. The other day she grabbed her coat and headed out to the trampoline with Kaiya. I was busy in the kitchen and I hear both girls giggling. When I look out the window what do I see...

Yes, that is Chloe's jacket on her legs. She found that the armholes make perfect pants! She told me it was so no one could see her underwear but I suspect she was just cold.

Joey and the trampoline

Joey (our dog) loves to jump on the trampoline. As soon as anyone gets on it he whines to get up. He finally figured out if he goes over by the tree he can get up himself. I am constantly calling him down because he tends to knock the kids over when he's up there but it is funny to see him catch air!

Cooper's visit

We all enjoyed having Cooper with us for his Spring Break. Kaiya had a blast hanging out with him when the other kids were in school. Jay even managed to get some tickets to the Blazer/Jazz game. We have now converted Coop into a Blazer fan.

Clamming

We had quite a crowd for Razor clamming. Charlene and Dan came up from Gold Beach, Char and Jeff came from Port Angeles, Jim and Rene came over from Ridgefield, Dad came over from Spokane, and Jason and Bailey tried their luck as first time clammers. For those of you who have never been razor clamming you look for small donut shaped holes thta the clams leave when they dig into the sand. When you find on you either use a shovel to dig them up or use a "gun", which is just a metal tube which digs down and pulls up all the sand and the clam. The thing about razor clams is that they can dig themselves down into the sand quickly so you are sticking your hand in a sandy pit to attempt to grab them. The best clams are always showing in the surf and I always end up drenched. Luckily we all got our limits even with the rain and wind.

Kaiya and Bailey

Kaiya, who doesn't like anyone other than Mom or Dad to hold her, found a new friend. She fell for Bailey on the very first day. He could hold her, carry her around, and push her in the stroller. They made quite the cute pair.

Spring break at the beach

We had a fabulous time at the beach. It was quite a crew with 4 adults, 7 kids, and 3 dogs. The cousins played non-stop for 4 days. We even got to celebrate Cooper's 12th birthday.

Cold day at the zoo

We spent the first day of Spring Break at the zoo. It was freezing but the kids were troopers. It was the first time Kaiya really noticed the animals, she spent the day pointing and laughing. The highlight was the giraffe who came up to the window, right next to John and Chloe, and started licking it with his giant tongue. He then decided to give Kaiya some "kisses" which she loved. She kept trying to pet him through the glass. We left before it really started to rain, thank goodness. Now we are doing laundry and packing for the beach!

Bowling

Here's a few pictures from a birthday party that Chloe went to. I think it took the ball about 2 minutes to make it down the lane, we only had the bowling ball come back towards us once.

Rough nap!

Kaiya's hair is at that perfect length that it will stick up at all angles depending on how restless her nap was. I'm sure she'll love these photos when she gets older.

Pics from the Smith visit

I didn't take many pictures when Krista and the kids came to visit but I got a few of Hayden and her backup dancer Chloe!

I'm so horrible...

I can't believe it has almost been two months since I posted anything. I promise to get more pictures up soon. We will be heading to the coast to meet up with Jason, Jen and the killer B's for Spring Break and I'm sure we will get some great pictures. I need to get some pictures of the kiddos and the pets. We learned that Joey LOVES to jump on the trampoline with the kids, we learned that Kaiya loves to boss Joey around and follows him around outside, we are seeing signs of spring in the trees and the flowers (YEAH). I hope everyone is doing well in their neck of the woods and keep checking the blog I will update it!

Sharing the dog bed

Kaiya loves to play in the stinky old dog bed and is kind enough to share it with Joey. She spent most of Sunday hanging out with Joey kicking him in the head and belly. When I got the camera out Joey thought he was in trouble and scooted under the coffee table.
