NJHS
So proud of John! He has worked very hard and was accepted into the National Junior Honors Society. Turns out the Lake Oswego Junior High has the first chapter of NJHS in Oregon and John is part of the first class. So proud of what he has accomplished both in school and out.
University of Portland here I come!
Good news in the Carnegie household. I found out that I got into the University of Portland School of Nursing for January 2015! It will be a busy, crazy year and a half but I'm looking forward to the new chapter in my life.
Retirement
We recently made a quick, and I mean very quick, trip down to Crescent City, CA to surprise my father-in-law for his retirement. After throwing the kids and dogs in the car at O'dark thirty (5:30 AM) we managed to get down there by lunch and sent the kids into his work. The look on his face was priceless, making the whole trip worthwhile. Grandma Cassie not only planned the whole surprise but managed to pack in dinner, breakfast, and a wonderful trip to the redwoods before we had to head home.
The kids loved the sea lions that had parked themselves on the sidewalk at dinner. Though my guess is that the restaurant and fishermen don't appreciate them hanging around. We were warned not to get too close because they do bite, but who in their right mind would get that close?
Thanks again for a fabulous time Jim and Cassie. Enjoy your retirement, we look forward to seeing a lot more of you. Love you!

So it literally been years since I have updated my blog but thought it was time to resurrect the Carnegie Clan. I know some of you use the blog as your source of keeping up with our craziness so I will attempt to be better. As you can see the kids have grown like weeds in the last 2 years. Kaiya has started kindergarten and is taking the school by storm. We frequently thank God for her fabulous teacher. Chloe is in the 4th grade now and is becoming such a wonderful young lady. She is busy with soccer, basketball, and softball. She has been blessed with a kind soul and is wise beyond her years. John has moved up to the Junior High and is excelling beyond measure. We are so proud of the young man he is becoming. He has broadened his horizons and started playing in the band, running X-C and track. Stayed tuned for more news in the near future!
