Clamming

We had quite a crowd for Razor clamming. Charlene and Dan came up from Gold Beach, Char and Jeff came from Port Angeles, Jim and Rene came over from Ridgefield, Dad came over from Spokane, and Jason and Bailey tried their luck as first time clammers. For those of you who have never been razor clamming you look for small donut shaped holes thta the clams leave when they dig into the sand. When you find on you either use a shovel to dig them up or use a "gun", which is just a metal tube which digs down and pulls up all the sand and the clam. The thing about razor clams is that they can dig themselves down into the sand quickly so you are sticking your hand in a sandy pit to attempt to grab them. The best clams are always showing in the surf and I always end up drenched. Luckily we all got our limits even with the rain and wind.
