Feeding the ducks

One of the first places the kids wanted to take Grandma V was to feed the ducks at the park. The geese got a little to close and we had to shoo them away but some of them waited patiently for their food. I find it's a great way to clean out our pantry, we fed them cereal, crackers, and tortillas.

Beach

It's hard to believe that we could go to the beach on Oct 22 and still get in the water. Though if you noticed it was only the kids who were brave enough to stick their feet in!

More quilts

Aunt Cara has been busy. Thank you so much for the beautiful quilts for the girls. The kids also love their rosary's.

John and Chloe

Had to add a couple more pictures of the big sister and brother. If you can't tell Chloe is quite the Diva! She loves her stuffed dog in the watermelon purse and will carry it around where ever we go. John loves to wear hats and is quite the ham.

Gifts

We have gotten so many wonderful gifts from family and friends, I just wanted to thank you all for your generosity and kindness. A few of our gifts have been homemade and I wanted to show off some of the talent of our friends. The colorful quilt on the top was made by Jay's sister, Cara, she has made a beautiful fun quilt for each of our children. I got so many compliments on it at my baby shower, some people wanted to know if she would make their kids a quilt! The gorgeous soft pink blanket was made by my sister-in-law, Jen, I use it all the time when we are out and about. Kaiya loves to rub her face on the soft fabric. And last but not least is the adorable jacket that my friend Catfish made. She was worried it would be to small but it fits her fine, she should be able to wear it over the winter months. When I put the hood up Kaiya looks like a cute little elf. Thank you all for your gifts, we appreciate them.

The animals

For those of you who don't know Bear passed away this summer and we only have Jinx and Einstein left. They have adapted to having a new baby around, Jinx has a little more gray on her muzzle and Einstein will soon have to worry about another little girl hauling him around like a baby. Chloe gives the animals plenty of attention even when they don't want it.

It's a rough life!

As you can see Kaiya has a rough life she's either getting ready to sleep, sleeping, or angry because I'm taking pictures instead of holding her. I've been trying to put her hair in a little pony tail. If you look closely at the top of her head she has a lttle ponytail that looks like a paintbrush sticking up!

The girls

Chloe loves her little sister, though Kaiya does not always love being held by Chloe.

Kiddos

The kids love taking a bath with Kaiya. Kaiya is starting to get use to taking her baths, as you can see she wasn't screaming this time!

Week Two

Kaiya had her two week Dr appt on Tuesday and she is a whooping 8 lbs and has grown almost an inch. I'm sure she'll continue gaining weight and height at an astonishing rate. We are all doing well here, Kaiya is now sleeping more at night and only wakes me up twice a night. She is staying awake more during the day and loves to lay on the couch kicking, gurgling, and grunting.

Meeting Mac

Uncle Ed, Aunt Tine and Mac came down to visit. Mac is at least 2.5 times bigger than Kaiya. It's hard to believe he was about Kaiya's size 4 months ago. The kids had a great time playing on the trampoline with Uncle Ed, building space ships with Aunt Tine, and entertaining Mac. Mac can't wait until he can run around with his cousins.

Happy kids

Just had a few more pictures of the kids to post. John and Chloe love holding her. In the last picture John is playing "Tag your it" with her.

Bath Time

Kaiya got her first bath now that her umbilical cord has fallen off. She wasn't a huge fan at first but after she was completely submerged in the warm water she enjoyed it. As you can see she's working on getting a belly to match those cheeks of hers.

Week One

Well the Carnegie family has survived the first week with three little ones. John and Chloe are still thrilled to have Kaiya around. Jay and I are making bets on when the novelty wears off, my guess is as soon as she is mobile and into their toys. Kaiya is doing great, still a bit confused on day and night sleeping. Overall I can't complain, she rarely cries and is starting to stay awake one to two hours at a time.

Family shots

As you can tell I'm still working on the formatting of our pictures, I'm new to this blogging thing! Anyways here are some shots from apple picking in Avila Farms. We have a great produce stand about 20 minutes away where you can feed goats, a cow, and sheep. They also have berry, peach, and apple picking. We go every year and ride the hay ride to pick out pumpkins for Halloween and have some of their homemade ice cream and baked goods. Jay had been BBQing over Labor Day weekend and we had some perfect coals for S'mores. As you can tell John, Chloe, and I all enjoyed a few chocolaty marshmallow goodness.
