What a week!

Well we spent our first week of summer vacation at the Reese's. It was three full days of swimming lessons, bike riding, slip and slide, fort building, fishing, and baseball. As you can see the kids had a wonderful time with the cousins. Chloe got a new helmet from Uncle Tooter, which she loves! Bailey built John a fort out of popsicle sticks and hot glue. The three older boys were quite the biker gang all week. Thanks again for having us Jas and Jen!

Chloe's graduation

Chloe has finished kindergarten for the first time, she will be starting kindergarten in the fall at "John's school". By next year she should be really good at it! Chloe has had a wonderful year it's amazing how much she's learned. Next time you see her ask her to read a book to you it's one of her favorite things to do.

John's Birthday

John had a wonderful 7th B-day. He had his last baseball game on his birthday and we went to two BBQ's. The next day he had 5 friends over and we went to see Up and then had a BBQ at our house. Thank you everyone for the gifts and the phone calls.

Catfish

Catfish had some business in Portland and was nice enough to stop by. Aunt Cara was kind enough to babysit so Fish and I had a kid free lunch (which rarely happens for me anymore) and then came back to the house and made some cookies. As always Fish got some great pictures, as you can see Chloe was getting into the story she was telling. Thanks for coming by Fish!

Aunt Cara

Aunt Cara came for a visit. It was good to have her stay with us for awhile. Kaiya warmed up in no time and by the end of the visit was even asking to be picked up.

Medford

We had quite a crew at Grandma Maria's. Her garage was falling off it's foundation so all the kids/grandkids and great-grandkids came out to help. In one day they managed 4 trips to the dump, fixed the garage, tilled her garden, and trimmed her hedges. It was quite a site seeing everyone working. After a hard days work Jay brought out the Santa Maria grill and cooked an amazing tri-tip dinner.

The clamming King and Queen

We've become a little addicted to clamming and even John has caught the bug. He loves to go clamming as long as it's not windy or rainy and there is no possibility that he'll get wet! As you can see the last clam tide was perfect conditions, John got his limit and Chloe was the designated clam holder. John has even managed to get the largest clams the two times he's been out.

Baseball

John is playing his first year of Little League. He seems to really enjoy it and we have been pleseantly surprised at how quickly his team is picking it up. They have even managed to get three outs to end the inning.

Strawberries!

One of the things that I miss from California is the strawberries, luckily the california strawberries are starting to make it up here. Kaiya, as you can tell, absolutely adores them. You can even see Joey in one of the pictures waiting for her to drop it.

My daughter the genius

Now that the weather is warming up all Chloe wants to wear is skirts and dresses (I still wonder if she's truly mine). I let her but our agreement is that she can't complain about being cold. The other day she grabbed her coat and headed out to the trampoline with Kaiya. I was busy in the kitchen and I hear both girls giggling. When I look out the window what do I see...

Yes, that is Chloe's jacket on her legs. She found that the armholes make perfect pants! She told me it was so no one could see her underwear but I suspect she was just cold.

Joey and the trampoline

Joey (our dog) loves to jump on the trampoline. As soon as anyone gets on it he whines to get up. He finally figured out if he goes over by the tree he can get up himself. I am constantly calling him down because he tends to knock the kids over when he's up there but it is funny to see him catch air!

Cooper's visit

We all enjoyed having Cooper with us for his Spring Break. Kaiya had a blast hanging out with him when the other kids were in school. Jay even managed to get some tickets to the Blazer/Jazz game. We have now converted Coop into a Blazer fan.
